While working for Rescan Environmental Services Limited in Canada, Michael Stewart and Sally Stewart undertook project management, baseline monitoring, development of terms of reference, effects assessments, presentations to regulators, consultations and development of water management plans for major mining projects, including:

Kaya Consulting Limited have experience of all water related aspects of Environmental Impact Assessments for major infrastructure projects, including mining developments, roads, bridges, wind farms and ports.


Broxden Development, Perth

Kaya Consulting Limited have prepared surface water quantity and quality sections of an EIA for a mixed development on the edge of Perth. The work included consultation with regulators and working with design engineers to develop effective flood management and drainage plans for this large site.

Gourock Pierhead Development

Kaya Consulting Limited undertook an assessment of the impact of a pier development on coastal processes and sediment transport in a prominent location in the inner Firth of Clyde. The work included site visits, review of literature and review of available site investigation reports.

Neart na Gaoithe (NnG) Onshore Windfarm Connection

Kaya Consulting Limited have prepared surface water hydrology and water quality baseline reports and environmental impact assessment sections for the proposed onshore works (including cable line) for the NnG windfarm. The work has included all aspects of the EIA process including consultation, scoping, baseline work, working with design engineers and preparing the EIA report.

Black Law Wind Farm Extension

Kaya Consulting Limited have been commissioned to undertake technical reviews of wind farms environmental impact assessments for wind farm projects in Scotland. This work has involved review of potential impacts of wind farms to surface water runoff and long-term stability of fragile upland peat bog environments. Kaya have acted for proponents of projects as well as for objectors.

New Kincardine Crossing

Yusuf Kaya managed aspects related to surface water, estuarine processes, sediment transport and flooding for the Environmental Impact Assessment for the New Kincardine Crossing across Forth Estuary. This major infrastructure project was one of the largest bridge infrastructure projects in Scotland for many years within a sensitive estuarine environment.

Aberdeen Peripheral Road

Yusuf Kaya acted as a senior reviewer for the water sections of the EIA and expert witness for the Aberdeen Peripheral Road project.

Kutcho Project, British Columbia, Canada

Kaya Consulting Limited have been commissioned to undertake surface water hydrology, water quality and groundwater components of the Kutcho Project Environmental Assessment. Our staff will undertake the environmental assessment, prepare key sections of the EA text and liaise with mining engineers developing the water management plan for the site.

Hannukainen Mine, Finland

Surface Water Hydrology Impact Assessment Water Balance and water quality modelling to support client decisions related to mine site development. The work included derivation of key hydrological parameters from baseline flow data, modelling impact of development on stream flows, working with hydrogeologists and engineers to better define mine impacts and preparing Hydrological Impact Assessment report.
